HOLDTight – Le Male Du Pays īohannon – Save Their Souls (Poolside Edit) Together with Lee ‘Evil’ Smarty, Paul formed Project Bango – a DJ partnership and a successful monthly club night where the duo’s energy has given new meaning to the phrase ‘dancefloor-friendly party rockers’! He quickly established himself as a resident DJ for Shade Disco where his love of nu-disco, filtered, soulful and jackin’ house, have seen him on warm-up duties for Michael Gray, The Shapeshifters, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Dr Packer, Hifi Sean, Fingerman and Babert to name but a few. Hailing from Guildford, Surrey, (UK), Paul developed a passion for house music and started DJ’ing in the early 90’s, making regular appearances in bars, clubs and underground parties across London and the South East.Īfter a ten-year break, Paul returned to the decks in 2009 after being inspired by Greg Wilson’s seminal disco/edits Essential Mix on Radio 1. Our guest this week is the amazing Paul Groves. Summer is upon us once more! What better soundtrack than HTTT? This will satisfy even the most picky out there, and rings true as an incredibly sly and well-crafted reworking of a timeless classic. Houdek‘s vocals falls in, doing justice to the original vocals, and I’m drawn in completely by the immersive groove cunningly crafted by Mannix. Mannix puts a dab hand on the Disco switch and conjures up a hands-in-the-air, 80’ies inspired remix, that oozes of high class production.Įverybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime (Mannix Disco Revamp) builds up nice and friendly, and adds a gentle nod to Stevie Wonder‘s Superstition at 1:06 before swooping in with some Simply Red ( Something Got Me Started) inspired piano stabs. The release features two smooth, slow jazz versions and this Disco revamp. On this one he joins forces with the Croatian jazz singer J acques Houdek, lending his vocals to this inspired cover version of The Korgis‘ classic from 1980. Vienna Disco sensation Mannix is consistently putting out hight quality releases on his Dafia imprint. Jacques Houdek – Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime (Mannix Disco Revamp)
